some shitty song i wrote. whatever.
She was a daughter hiding her depression
She was a woman making an impression
She was the girl sitting next to you
Messy hair and untied shoes
She was the one asking you to care
She was the best friend hoping you’d be there
She wept alone on the bathroom floor
Bruises on her arms were really sore
The sound of your voice was ringin’ in her ears
Being alone was her biggest fear
The worst of situations would make her stronger
until it all built up and she couldn’t take it any longer
You’d lay on her shoulder
When your bones were sore
from wasting your day
Helping father do chores
She held you in her arms
That day you cried
when your little cat
Mitten had died
You think to yourself
Where’s she been?
You don’t know where she’s gone
With who or why or when
You called up her phone,
No one answered at the house
You knocked on her door
It was as quiet as a mouse
You went back home and sat on your couch
A frown on your face And a horrible slouch
She came in the door
Smiled and tied her shoe
Sat next to you on the couch
And said ‘you know I’ll always be there for you.’
